history war
QUESTION: Who is the man in the picture? What has happened to him?
I AM FAIRLY CONFIDENT THAT...
a guy talking about army
BECAUSE...
cause of his leg and cause of his outfit
MY QUESTION IS...
how he lost his leg
QUESTION:Who is the man in the picture? What has happened to him?
I AM FAIRLY CONFIDENT THAT...
This is veteran who lost a leg, returning from the war. Probably, the war is over. This might be a victory parade. Perhaps it took place in an African-American community.
BECAUSE...
He is clearly walking on crutches and missing a leg. He is wearing what appears to be a uniform. There are lots of people around (mostly women and children, where are the men?), some black and some white. The people look like they are cheering and one is shaking his hand.
MY QUESTION IS...
What was the role of Black Americans in WWI? I would like to know more about these victory parades since it seemed like things were pretty segregated back then.
